A day  workshop on " Challanges and Way Forward in Steel Sector of Pakistan"  organized by Engineering Development Board (EDB) concluded on January  25 after a day long deliberations . Ministry of Industries, Production & Special Initiatives has described (AIDP) Auto Industry Development Programme as manifestation of private-public cooperation for facing future challenges.  A meeting was held on January 28 under the chairmanship of Mr. Shahab Khawaja, Secretary Ministry of Industries, Production & Special Initiatives to review implementation on modernization of the trucking sector of Pakistan. The Government has decided to introduce standards for manufacturing of gas geysers in order to enhance their efficiency. EDB has finalized strategy to enhance the efficiency of domestic fans and pumps in two separate meeting held in Islamabad on February 9.  The Goverment has issued gazette notification declaring trucking as an industry. EDB has urged upon the engineering industry in general and exporter in particular to fully utilize the Long Term Financing Facility.
